S1 E112 Unpacking Video of a Trichocereus called Trichocereus courantii

Trichocereus macrogonus unpacking video Courantii

In this unpacking video I received a glorious cut from a fellow cactus breeder. I came across this Trichocereus on a classifieds ad, and it was offered as Trichocereus courantii. The latter is a close relative of Trichocereus candicans and does not grow columnar like this plant does. The plant is actually one of those amazing blue Trichos that were once called Trichocereus macrogonus and the spines and the beautiful blue skin are outstanding. At the moment this plant still has a few minor blemishes, but there´s no doubt it will grow into a showroom plant one day.

Video: S1 E86 How To Pollinate a Cactus Flower (Trichocereus / Echinopsis)

How to pollinate a cactus flower

In this video I pollinate a cactus flower, in particular the flower of a Trichocereus and collect pollen in the process. By pollinating your plants, you make sure that you get lots of seeds from your plants. Most Trichocereus species are self-sterile, which means that you need pollen from another plant to produce seeds.
