Here´s a video that I filmed a couple years ago when my wife’s grandfather passed away. He was very old, but he was a really special guy and as someone who lost both of his grandfathers very early on, I liked having someone from this older generation around to tell me barely funny jokes. I try to be very open about the things going on in my life, and this was one of the sadder moments.
While doing this, I pollinate a Wörlitz follow-up hybrid by Uwe Kahle. His breeder´s code for this cross is KA.2013.205.06 and the parents are Wörlitz x (Gröner Orange x Legon). The flower has a very strong contrast, which doesn’t even show accordingly in the video because it’s just too powerful.
Mini Flower Parade! This is the Lobivia hybrid LEWITZSONNE, which is a hybrid that came from a German cactus nursery and was selected and distributed by the German breeder SAP. Full flower pollination video coming up soon!
My large Lobivia Anemone mother plant pushed out lots of flowers in the 2019 season and this gorgeous flush came out early in the season. Lots of gorgeous cactus flowers with a black throat. Was able to pollinate various of them with stuff like Lobivia winteriana and cannot wait to see what comes from the seeds.

Various things are happening in this video. I can´t read my own writing, which happens way more often than I would like to admit. Also, I am pollinating this gorgeous Trichocereus hybrid that was grown from a cross between Flying Saucer x Dione. I am pollinating the flower and collect pollen for pollination of other cacti.

This gorgeous hybrid by Uwe Kahle was grown from the cross KA.2007.0040 and the parents are Fugu x (Abendrot x Yellow California). The flower has a very unique shape and it´s just a very funky plant. I mostly bought this because of how much my wife loved it and I´ve been using it in various crosses this year.

The Trichocereus arboricola I own went crazy this year and put on an amazing cactus flower show! Multiple flowers opened at the same time and it was such a beautiful sight. This flower is one of my favorites!

This intense and very special flower belongs to the hybrid SPHINX. It is a hybrid created by Rolf Autenrieth. The parents are Noller 5 x Flying Saucer and it´s rare that this plant flowers. I´ve owned this plant for a few years, but it was the first year it rewarded me with a gorgeous cactus flower.
Crazy cross between Schigra/Gräsers Schönste and Teshi/Apricot Glow. The earthy color tones of Schigra and Gräsers Schönste have perfectly mixed with the glowing look and shape of Apricot Glow. It´s not really a beautiful flower in the classic sense, but it definitely has character. I kept this one last season and if it continues to accept unusual pollen it´ll probably stay in my collection for a while.
WÖRLITZ hybrids are known for their sometimes crazy colors. WÖRLITZ is a multihybrid involving DESSAU and FLYING SAUCER and is just an absolute classic. This hybrid is the result of WÖRLITZ x (GRÖNER ORANGE x LEGON) and the breeder is Uwe Kahle.
Interesting video! This is the pollination I did on the plant that was broken during the storm. Surprisingly, the pollination did kinda take for a while, but it eventually dropped off during our record heatwave and at this time seeds were not fully developed. But yeah, interesting video! PS: Subscribe would be awesome.
I sometimes buy large numbers of cheap cacti for cactus grafting and I got these from a fellow breeder who sold them off through a market place. In this video I unbox the cactus hybrids and inspect them for problems like root mealies.
After the gorgeous Cactus Flower Parade in CACTUS JERK Episode 200, we were hit by a massive storm with thunder, lightning and floods.
This is the video when I came out into the greenhouse in the morning and found the mess that it had created. Needless to say, my beautiful Trichocereus arboricola wasn´t as beautiful anymore. LOL.

As a cactus breeder, it is normal for me to injure myself on cactus spines every now and then. However, in this case I accidentally hit on a cactus with full force and it hurt like crazy. I´m really not a sissy when it’s about pain, but I can still feel this one months after it happened.
In this unpacking video I show you what kind of greenhouse heaters I am using, and how to control them using a digital thermostat. I got this one very cheap through eBay and it´s the third one from this manufacturer that I own. The manufacturer is called BIO GREEN and this model is called PALMA. The digital thermostats I use are called THERMO 1 and THERMO 2. With these, you can set a minimum temperature where the heater kicks in during the cold winter months, which keeps your plants from freezing to death. In my greenhouse I´ve set the temperatures at 0° Celsius and almost all my plants do very well with it. The digital thermostat saves you a lot of money because it keeps your heater from running and blowing electricity all the time and only kicks in when it´s necessary.
Today is the day that I´m fertilizing the whole collection. With a collection this size, it always means a lot of work that can take up to a few hours. I normally fertilize with smaller cans because I like to add lots of additional extracts and it just takes its time to mix everything. After a long day of fertilizing I´m always pretty tired, but the plants repay it with lots of flowers every year.
